"HARVEST OF GEMS AND MINERALS"
September 18th & 19th, 2010
Show Chair: Carol Corden
ccorden@comcast.net
In cooperation with Redwood City Recreation Department,
Sequoia Gem & Mineral Society presents their annual "Harvest
of Gems & Minerals" show at the Community Activities
Building every year, on the third weekend in September.
SGMS takes over the whole building at 1400 Roosevelt Avenue,
Redwood City, Saturday and Sunday, 10:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.
Admission and parking are FREE and it is an event which the
whole family can enjoy. Sandwiches and other refreshments
will be available for purchase.
Come by and get your first exposure to
some of the lapidary arts! Club members and students
from the club-supported lapidary classes at Little House in
Menlo Park will demonstrate some basic grinding and
polishing skills; and Preston Bingham (Beads by Preston,
650-368-6351) will demonstrate bead-making and stringing. In
addition there will be information available in the Earth
Sciences Room, and club members (easily identified by their
badges) are a great source of knowledge.
Come buy some fine jewelry, lapidary materials, and specimens! Our dealers have been with us for years and they are honest people that love their work. They will be glad to explain in great detail their products and services. This year we are pleased to have the following sellers:

In addition to buying from our vendors, attendees may also
find something of interest in the club's silent auction
offerings (generally rough lapidary materials and
specimens); or you might buy one of our well-known grab-bags
of polished stones. The club also offers used literature for
sale at nominal prices.
Maybe even win something!
Door Prize tickets are available at the front table or from
our members for a $1.00 donation per ticket. Raffle and door
prizes are supplied by our members and dealers and the Grand
Prize is $100.
